changing isp

Hi everyone
I'm looking to change my isp and could do with some advice.
At present i'm with tiscali on their adsl max and to be fair, i've
not had many problems but i'm looking for more speed ( is'nt everyone! )
I'm on acomb exchange (north yorkshire ) and according to 'samknows'
i,m 700 mtrs from the exchange which equates to a line length of
approx 1200 mtrs.
At present i'm using a 2wire 2700hgv router/modem.
I've posted my stats below.

I'm thinking of going to 02 and would appreciate any advice

your downstream att is a bit high for the line length you think you have got. Your sync is also very low due to the 15db SNR you got.

You should get around 1Meg up and 8Meg down on O2 LLU (not Access).

Just one comment. Your SNR is high (at 13dB) and therefore has probably been set high by BTs systems due to some past instability on the line. It's possible that that has been sorted and the SNR could safely drop to lower levels.
But, be warned, if the noise is still there then moving to O2 could give you an unstable line for a while as they will start off back on a 6dB margin which could result in disconnections. And if they have to increase the margin to stabilise the line then in time you may end up with not having it any faster than it is now.
Have you done the checks for ring wire/etc in order to try and get the best out of your line?

I think Tiscali LLU may default to 12dB target SNRM. Certainly that's what the chap across the road was on by the time he called me across on Day 1 (coming from dialup) to find out why his wireless connection didn't work although wired did.

So he may have done a few disconnects before that so I can't be sure.
