Non-LLU Heavy User ISP

[link to this post]

Hello all,

For the longest time we've had 2 ADSL lines to the house, one with BT Option 3 and one with Zen 8000 Pro. Both sync at full speed without fail as we live very close to the exchange.

My local exchange has no WBC date, no SDSL and no LLU, so I'm stuck on the old 8MBit packages.

We're planning to cancel one of the phone lines to the house soon, and dropping the BT ISP account in the process to reduce monthly outgoings, and as my younger brother is leaving home to go to university.

Currently I use the Zen account to myself and quite often hit the 50GB allowance as we try not to download much on the BT account.

I'm really looking for an ISP with 832kbps upload (so a business package) as well as a decent monthly allowance. On/off-peak usage should be ok as we can do downloads at night.

I've looked into EntaNET packages, but I'm concerned over all the horror stories about ALT and massive speed reductions. I understand that these would hit me even though I'd be using IPSC, rather than 21CN.

The best match I've found so far is the 110GB package at fast.co.uk. They have great reviews and it's more than double my current bandwidth, I'm not so keen on the 3 month contract though.

I'd appreciate any feedback anyone has to offer.

Thanks
