IDNet how do they rate now??

[link to this post]

Doesn't seem to be any up to date reviews or discussions on forums about IDNet in the last year or so...how are they rating now?? They are still in top 10 (ISP Review) but no recent activity.

Thanks for your help

Thankyou..yes gives me a little more insight!

Wish there was a promo code available for new setup though =( as new line with no existing isp. I really appreciate the service difference compared but the cost all adds up =(

Have you already got the line, or got it ordered?

if not, BT are doing a new installation for £29.99 till the end of September. 18-month contract though.

All non-LLU ISPs are available on that, including IDNet.

You could also look into Plusnet. Theirs can run on that BT (Retail) line, or you could get one installed by them. If I read it right you could save money that way as well. Partly depending on your exchange and the package. They do have this traffic management though.

Line on order, no charge as already intact. New phone number issued, should all go live in next few days.Just need to order BB on it.

Plusnet is a thought but again contract length and traffic shaping.

See if there are any of the better LLU providers available at the exchange your line connects to.

Plusnet is in fact a monthly contract with 10 days notice, if that makes sense smile.

The 12 months is just the minimum period needed to avoid paying the small setup charge and the cost of the router if you take the "free" one. All you have to do to leave early is pay those if you have incurred them.

On a new connection I think nearly all ISPs charge, possibly more than Plusnet.

Re the new number

[re: Anonymous] [link to this post]

I forgot!

Once the line is up and running with the new number it will probably give the speed estimates for wherever it was used previously. This can cause panic and/or ordering problems.

It usually updates to the correct location within a couple of days. An address check using samknows exchange mapping rather than the usual exchange search should give you a reasonable idea here and now smile.

Thank You for all your help. So you are saying that I could leave PlusNet within the 12mths, I would just incur the setup fee and router if taken???

I might have to opt for this as budget is now tight =(
