As per title.
The reason I ask is I am thinking of going with their Fibre 30GB Pro package which would suit me great as I work permanent late shift finishing @ midnight..30GB a month is great as in the day I only use the WWW for the usual facebook, email. However the unlimited overnight & weekend down & upload is of huge use to me as that is when I download most of my HDTV shows and stuff. Is it truly unlimited or is there a FUP as I can't see anything on their website. Any heads up on this please ?
Steve

No, they're just a reseller not an ISP.
|
|
|
no, they'll be in the resellers forum section

Dear Mods can you please transfer this to the Resellers Forum section as I was not aware that ADSL24 were a re-seller.

Hi Steve,
It is truly unlimited off-peak. We have customers using hundreds of gigs off-peak, that is fine. If you need any more info just let me know

Yes, when you sign up it will need the setup fee and first month paying before the order can be sent to BT. This is so that we can validate your order as well as ensure that the upfront costs are covered.
Yes, 400gb/month in off-peak should be fine. We don't have a FUP, but naturally don't expect it to be hammered 24/7 to affect other peoples connections just in the same way we wouldn't want anyone affecting yours.
Thank you
James

Ok James thanks for that. I have a problem though O2 have told me that I can't use my MAC for 7 days for some reason ? Any Idea on that ??? Which means the earliest I can sign up will be the 11th now that sucks

Well, you can still place an order, as it would take at least 7 days to migrate to an FTTC package anyway. No ISP should be able to put a block on using a MAC, that is your right to do so as and when you wish.
What did o2 say exactly as it appears odd?

What did o2 say exactly as it appears odd? It's ambiguous, like many O2 communications, and also not really relevant to the current circumstances of a T & C significantly detrimental change free getout. Hello Bob
Here's your MAC key: xxxxxxxxxxxx. You'll need to give this to your new broadband supplier, if you decide to leave. It expires on date: 06/03/2011.
If it expires and you still want to leave, call us and we'll get you a new one. If you'd like to stay, then you don't need to do a thing.
Don't forget our seven day notice period. As long as you wait seven days from the date you told us you wanted to leave, we won't charge you. If you're still in a contract though, we'll have to charge you for leaving it early.
Best regards,
Felix Geyr To me it implies if you are out of contract you have to give 7 days notice, which may or may not mean the migration must not complete for 7 days from issue of the MAC.
Also it covers two separate issues in the same paragraph. Clearly if you are still within a minimum term and not on a T & C getout, you would have to pay off the contract.
In other words it seems to be a standard perfectly legitimate email but not applicable in the circumstances.
In my case I decided it was too much hassle to investigate and just waited a few days.

Agreed it makes no sense to me at all. So I am in limbo now for seven days as I am pretty sure they told me I could not use my MAC for seven days without incurring some sort of leaving charge. Wish I could record my Phone Conversations like all companies do nowadays.
To make it even worse they have sent me my bill today and charged me twice for not having any qualifying discount from previous months although I did and are now going to charge me £15.10 with a discount for this month. When the actual bill should be because of all the mess they have made £5.56
So I rang them up and pointed out the mistake to them and was told and this is HILARIOUS although my bill is not due to be paid for two more weeks on the 18.03.11 that they can't amend it until the next months bill which would be 18.04.11 So in essence because of their billing mistake I am giving them my money for 4 weeks free of charge totally unacceptable.
Rant over

this is HILARIOUS although my bill is not due to be paid for two more weeks on the 18.03.11 that they can't amend it until the next months bill I have a feeling that rather than being hilarious, that is illegal.
They are required by law to give 10 days notice of a direct debit amount precisely so it can be challenged and corrected if wrong, before it is taken.
Imagine if there were a couple of extra zeros on the end of the amount due to a billing error? Would you be supposed to finance or prevent an overdraft to avoid huge bank charges?

That was my exact response to it! I said what if it had been a few hundred £££ mistake. He had no answer. I told them I was not prepared to pay it and was told that I could stop the payment and then it would be amended for the next month.
I am pretty sure if I do that that I will suddenly find that my Internet suddenly stops working
In a case now of dammed if I do and dammed if I don't. Must surely somebody I can refer this to, I know it's only £9 something but like you pointed out it could have been a few extra 00's on there. I am so mad, for over 3 years never a single problem with them totally faultless and in the space of 24 hours it has really gone to pieces. Even got an email asking for the Router to be sent back just now ????
I haven't even said I am leaving yet am I missing something here ? Is it Friday the 13th today ?? HA HA If I hadn't decided on my leaving them I have made up my mind now. ADSL24 here I come.
Rant over I think
Happy Days

Just been foraging around on this site.
Not a mention of what to do if the proposed debit is incorrect and the payee refuses to adjust it in time, only what to do if what is taken is different from it .
