Is your exchange FTTC enabled? If it is, then you may be able to get BT Infinity and several other fibre suppliers.

if there is physically no FTTC, thern you can not get above say 20M unless on cable. All services will be 8m, 16m, 20m or 24M max depending on supplier and the length of your line.

Sounds like the standard Infinity option 1 price there.

Go to SamKnows and put in your phone number. It should tell you when your exchange will be FTTC enabled and if it is or isn't.

That is FTTC. Just their (difficult to get) hidden service for people with under 15Mbps FTTC estimate. Which doesn't quite tie in with the sales talk to the OP.

As you (don't quite) say in another post, we need a link to what samknows says about the OP's exchange.

I did, before replying to the first one. Nothing wrong with your second one, good advice, but the first is rubbish smile. Given an estimate from sales of 34Mbps, and the OP's statements that the exchange is ADSL Max only, there is no way they could be talking about Option 3 with fibre.

frown.

Well according to that you are right saying you can't get Infinity, but according to a BT Openreach spreadsheet it is in Phase 5a or 5b for NI, depending on post code. IIRC that is the current rollout.

What does the BT Wholesale Checker say?

I seem to remember, technically, fttc is possible, even if the local exchange doesn't support it, but an adjacent exchange hosts the fibre.

That's correct - it happens quite often. What I think has happened is that samknows is either having one of its periodic updating lags, or hasn't been given the latest info which comes from an Openreach "confidential" file someone spotted and some of us downloaded before they blocked access.

As if keeping this sort of info secret matters frown! The words are "corporate paranoia", not "commercial sensitivity".

Brilliant. Does this checker come up with fibre available?

Give it a few days. I think you may find several checkers get to see FTTC available for you. Just waiting for the relevant BT database to update.

Have a look at this spreadsheet for basic info about the ISPs who can all supply if BT can supply Infinity. Does the Infinity checker show it?
