Hi
O2 has been fine on 2mb on the top (£21) package, don't feel the traffic shaping. I may have to move to BT (BT VIsion maybe) but when checking on the product it gave me an estimated speed of 4mb. Are the estimates based on a database, not actual? I won't magically double my speed with the same lines and exchange
Downstream Att 55db Distance 4km

Are you talking Sync Speed or Throughput? Surprised you are not getting at least 4 Meg Sync on O2?
You could well have a wiring problem, which you will take with you to BT.

No. you are! There is no reason why BT WBC should not equal anybody's LLU. They are both ADSL2+ and WBC now had continuous non-stepped (88% of Sync) IP Profile.

Thanks, ermmmm so I should be getting faster even with O2. I am in the master socket so it's outside the problem. I don't want to change, I am trying to get Sky Sports without a dish, no Virgin etc, rented house so changing for BT Vision.

Get Sky Go.

And O2 runs 6dB noise margin profiles so it is swings and rounderbouts.
With BT I get 2 meg/sec more than I did on O2 as BT's DLM has put me on a 2-3 db noise margin.
The continued bashing BT for the sake of it on this site does make it look like a bunch of ISP fanboys live here.

No i'm not
and LLU is still faster due to no IP profiling system..... FACT.
I've went through it my self
i get roughly a meg better throughput with BE/o2 LLU than a BT reseller with the new version of IP profiling system.

Without knowing actual sync speeds, both up and down, then impossible to say for sure.
NOTE: Even when ADSL modem is in the master socket, the start of wiring on the other extensions does have an effect. Getting the stats when using the master sockets special test socket is the best way to find out what you are capable of.

From your posting and conversations with XRaySpeX who is a respected member it appears you wouldn't know what a fact was if it slapped you senseless.

Oh makes sense now epyon is another of your multi accounts. No wonder that user talks piffle.
You really need to start logging in with the right accounts before you defend yourself.
