I live in wembley park and I am looking for the fastest adsl provider as I do not have fibre yet. I have bin told about o2/BE but I'm not completely sure yet
The fastest ADSL2+ ISP will be any supplying BTw WBC, cuz that will, on good lines, reduce your NM to 3 dB with resultant faster sync speed.
What are you current router stats?
1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up => 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB => 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB => 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU => 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU => 2011: Orange 19 Meg WBC

The fastest ADSL2+ ISP will be any supplying BTw WBC, cuz that will, on good lines, reduce your NM to 3 dB with resultant faster sync speed. Except you'll have to deal with the DLM profiling system.

So does BE do that?
No, Be/O2 are LLU and seem to default NM to 6.5 dB.

So who will be the best BTw WBC provider (NOT BT)
BE Unlimited is faster
Yh that's what I was gunna get
IIRC on Be Unlimited the user can set the target noise margin to 3dB and also remove interleaving. The latter still leaves INP running, but a call to support can get that turned off as well.

So which do I go with? And I'm a bit confused with be an o2 as they use the exact same infrastructure so I should get the exact same connection? Cause o2 has some good offers. And i don't feel ver confident in orange..... At all
o2 have traffic management and be dont.

Have you already got broadband at the place you are talking about? Maybe what you are using now?
If you have, then line stats from your router will help us help you. See here for help. Also which ISP and package you are on.
Apart from wanting the fastest speed, like most of us do, what do you use the net for? The best ISP for downloading torrents isn't necessarily the same as the best ISP for gaming. Have you any idea how much you download and upload per month, and are you bothered about the cost?
What about times of day?

What speedtests? Some behave that way.
How are simple HTTP file downloads?

You should be getting more than 7.5 Meg Sync Speed.
With your present 5.4 Meg Sync, speedtests should show about 4.5 Meg. It is impossible to get 11 Meg speedtests for at least the last 20 hours,
Output power (Down/Up) 8.5 dBm / 1.6 dBm These are far too low! There's something amiss with your line.
EDIT: Pointless seeking fastest ISP while you are not even getting the best out of your line now.

so i think i get my broadband straight form the exchange its not too far away just walking distance. Doubt it! Your line is about 3.2 Km long or equivalent to this of terribly bad quality and maybe aluminium instead of copper.

As XRaySpeX says, there is still something very poor about your connection speed for that attenuation. (Has your speed improved though, since removing the ring wires?)
Does everything that connects to the phone line go through a filter, or have you got something that is connected direct to a phone socket, or possibly you are using a plug-in extension cable somewhere in the house?
A common suspect is one or more Sky boxes.

My speeds haven't really changed too much. I contacted bt and they did some checks and something is wrong so they are going to send someone to fix the line.
But have you checked the things I just asked? A single phone on a plug-in extension can wreck your broadband, even if that plugin goes through a standard dangly filter.
Unfiltered Sky boxes are death.

There are no plugin extensions and any phone line in use are filtered. Btw I contacted bt hours before u asked me.

Btw I contacted bt hours before u asked me. If they find the fault in your wiring, they will charge you > £100, as they would have warned you when you booked eng.
Have you tried test socket behind faceplate to get the router stats?

The problem is not in the house it's the wiring coming in the house that is owned by bt slso it should be free also I didn't book anything they said openreach will come and fix it and give me a call in a few days.

Also those stats are from the test socket
