Move to Plusnet from BT based on price am I stupid?

Found the BT HomeHub3 worked great wirelessly in my home with thick walls is Plusnet's router as good please?

Thinking of moving to save a bit of dosh is this false economy in your opinion please?

I'm on a Market 1 8Mbps exchange getting 7mbps.

How much would you save and who is your line rental with? Bearing in mind the migration charge if you don't move your phone to PN as well as the braodband, and the Market one prices are far higher than the headline ones.

Are you out of contract on the phone line? Is cost-cutting the only issue, and you are otherwise happy with the BT Broadband?

Are we right to think your exchange isn't WBC-enabled either?

I think you might be better ringing BT for a MAC and seeing if you get offered a retention deal .

Yes I'm Market 1 and yes PlusNet order process (test only) gave £7 pm higher price than headline rate with no explanation but with first year discount still much cheaper than BT and 4 X bandwidth I have now.

Called BT at your suggestion and they couldn't move much really and have a MAC code as a result. They said they just couldn't compete with PlusNet (even though they own it ;-(

The BT Homehub3 has been brilliant in our house with thick walls only hope the Thomson Technicolor 582N is as good ?

How can you possibly quadruple your current 7 Megs, i.e. 28 Megs, when you don't even have WBC ADSL2+ there, let alone Fibre?

The HomeHub 3 will work in standard trim with Plusnet broadband.

No, but why worry when you are so happy with the HomeHub 3. If you don't take the PN router there is no contract tie-in, or at least that was the case last I know.

The Essentials product has a 12-month minimum term, or a more expensive monthly contract option. I advise the 12-month one, as the monthly one carries on at the higher price even after twelve months, which is when the 12-month term expires and that one becomes monthly at the lower price.

There is nothing really to be scared of with Plusnet. I happily re-signed for 18 months, eleven months into my original 18-month term.
