New provider- Fibre & Broadband only?

I�m looking for a new ISP. I don�t care whether it�s BT Wholesale, LLU or Virgin Media as long as the following criteria are met:

1. Broadband only option (essential)
2. Fibre to the premises or cabinet (only VM offer FTTP in my area. FTTC comes in a fews weeks.)

UK support line would be a bonus

I'd bet a fiver that it is not FTTP from Virgin Media, but FTTN with a coax cable into the home, i.e. still metal.

Why do you need broadband only? If you are comparing why not just compare the total cost for the broadband (including any line rental) between the different suppliers?

Whether they happen to deliver a voice line or not is irrelevant if you don't need it and they end up being cheapest.

IE - buying VM on "wires only" may work out more expensive than buying Sky with voice line rental (NB this is just an example and may in now way represent the "real" scenario and is used just to illustrate the point).

I share a home. The other resident does not want to change from the current phone line provider. I'm looking for fibre broadband and fibre broadband only. I am not interested in a special Xmas bundle deal.

That's not quite the same statement . Your opening post said no phone option, not no bundle.

You don't get a choice of FTTP or FTTC. FTTP is a bit more complex, so what does this checker say that phone number will have available? (Do not use the postcode checker).

If it's FTTC then plenty of ISPs offer that without a bundle. Assuming you want unlimited downloads 24/7, not just overnight, your only real option is PlusNet.

I know which LLU providers are available. Virgin Media FTTN is avalailble. I have my choice of BT Wholesale and FTTC will soon be available very soon. When I looked at the PlusNet site last week and again today there's no mention of a Broadband only option...only deals with lines. I might give them a ring.

Sorry, misunderstood your question - I thought you were looking for wires only.

So, Plusnet is an option. I believe Zen and Andrews and Arnolds also do. Don't have much experience of others I'm afraid.
