ISP for low usage broadband and cheap phone

An elderly housebound relative is running up huge bills with BT, mainly due to having to call carers on their mobiles. I'd like to set her up with a phone provider having cheap rates, especially UK mobile, and a low bandwidth broadband package (5-10GB would probably be sufficient).

Any suggestions?

Do you know what the name of the exchange that her phone line is connected to?

You can add Anytime Mobile Plus (1000 minutes of UK mobile, unlimited mobile) for £5 per month.
Need to be EE/Orange/T-Mobile customer to get the lowest price on the broadband though

Off top of my head cannot recall any more who do a mobile inclusive calls option

It's complicated to some extent as with bundles it all depends on what you value most, cheap broadband or cheap calls.
I have a bundle with Plusnet that gives me fairly cheap broadband on a market 1 exchange but I have to have my LR+calls with PN to get it.
I wouldn't choose PN for calls as it is not cheap compared to the competition, however I use an overider for some calls and also use a mobile phone for certain other calls.

I'm not sure I would find this so easy to grasp if I was twenty years older and not up to date (and I'm not compared to those born more recently) with Telecoms and IT etc. etc.

Thanks for this. The deal looks good, but I've had no joy in finding EE's phone charges for the package. The "Phone tariff" link in the details just leads to their Help page, and a confusing array of options.

On the EE page (which is a real mess in my opinion)

Click view packages for unlimited broadband, and a panel of buttons e.g. router, line rental saver, Anytime Mobile Plus appear, click those and some more detail appears to the right.

Checking the availability at my relative's number resulted in her being pestered by EE reps this morning, which is a demerit in my book, but their deal looks very good value:

12 month contract
Line Rental £11 (if paid upfront)
Unlimited Broadband £2 for first 12 months (then £6).
Anytime Plus Mobile: 1000 minutes mobile and unlimited UK/0870/0845 £5

The weird thing is that they also offer a deal with the Broadband and Anytime combined at £6 per month for 3 months and then £11 thereafter, which works out £33 more than if paying for them separately. Charging different prices for the same service looks dodgy. Whether both routes are available in the ordering process remains to be seen.

I'd be interested in trying this for my own line, but seem to be one of the 15% outside their area (cheapest they can offer me is £21 for 20GB - line rental and calls NOT included. Ouch!)

The whole caboodle is a real mess in my experience, with more than a sprinkling of total incompetence, as you expect for peanuts. Luckily back in Suffolk with Freeola for a couple of weeks.

Been with Primus Saver at my new property for several months now. Don't use the phone and had a couple of niggles when I signed up, but been stable for quite some while now.

Don't think I could find them on this site, probably as they are a reseller? I think I got Talktalk come up at one point.

Would have stuck with Plusnet, but they seem to makes things very difficult for customers to do some things. A huge hike in price because I would/could not take line rental being an example.

Freeola were nothing but a PITA for me. Still different users have different results.
