Hello,
I'm currently with BT for broadband (ADSL) Does Sky broadband offer static IP address with their service as add-on or as a package?
Thanks,
|
|
|
Think it was only available to users who were part of the BE ISP that they bought some time ago.

You can get a static IP on Sky's Pro Broadband package..
You can only order this package via the phone.
WBC 4400/800 @ 4.2Km > TP-Link TD-W8968v3
FTTC 66000/19999 @ 450m > HG612 > Asus RT-AC87U BQM

Zen offers one as part of the service and they are £16,99 for ADSL.
Not sure what Sky Pro is cost wise.

Is that one-off, or monthly/annual fee?
The indispensable man or woman passes from the scene, and what happens next is more or less the same thing as was happening before.
My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk. Domains, site and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - Plusnet UnLim Fibre (FTTC). Sync 58162/14182kbps @ 600m. - BQM

I thought you were talking about the cost of the static IP address. Many ISPs charge a monthly fee, unless it is supplied as standard with the product. The Plusnet one-off charge is quite unusual.

Just a quick note - whilst a static IP address is available for Sky Fibre Unlimited Pro customers, it needs to be activated via the Sky Website (My Sky > Broadband Pro). It also isn't available for all exchanges. I'm guessing Sky uses their LLU kit and either have incompatible or un-configured kit at some exchanges...

If you remove a static and re apply one within an hour you won't get charged twice.
Which i read somewhere by someone who did it.

Thanks.
I was not championing Zen just stating what I know

indeed, but these "most isp's" are actually breaking ip allocation guidelines.
IP's are not supposed to be profitable.
In the case of sky its ok as they have it as part of another package.
Plusnet is obviously ok.
However I find BT's £5 month premium somewhat dodgy.
