When you establish what your line is capable of, John Lewis Broadband offer a competitive line rental fee of £13.50 per month, plus an international anytime calling plan for £7.00. They only offer a 38 mbps fibre package, capped at 100 GB per month for £25. This suits me fine, as my line can only physically support 50 mbps, and it was futile to pay BT for a 76 mbps speed that I could never receive.
Some people may say cut out the middle man and go to Plusnet (John Lewis uses their network) but I have found John Lewis to have excellent customer service and a constant speed of 36 mbps over wireless (sure it would be the adverised 38 over ethernet). I have never had any drop outs or resyncs like I had with the BT HH5. The ZyXEL router/modem supplied by John Lewis seems like a good piece of kit. I have little technical knowledge of these things, but can only speak as a satisfied customer.
