Currently with Pulse8 and no complaints, costs around £50 per month.
I was thinking about BT Infinity 1 and Sky Fibre Max, both are on good deals at the moment:
£17.10 + £10.99 = £28.09 p/m
£17.40 +£15.00 = £32.40 p/m
=£60.49 including line saver with BT
Add in the £125 from BT and £95 from QuidCo and it works out at £50.49 (including the activation fees).
With the usual "It's BT and Sky" any thoughts? I am running pfSense at home anyway so I can take two WAN inputs and load balance (thinking more streaming and kids on one connection, work and mine on the other )
I would lose the current static IP.

I've had FTTC for the kids and one for me in the past - and put them together with a bit of cisco kit.
Nothing wrong with your logic I'd say go for it.

With Sky Fibre Max jumping to £49.99 a month I think I will be scrapping this idea for now!

I got Sky Fibre Max yesterday, I ordered over the phone and also got 33% off the line rental.
If you do want the TV too, they gave me 50% off all TV packages over the phone.

That a new all in price with line rental?
|
|
|
Yeah:
BT Infinity 1 = £39.99
BT Infinity 2 = £49.99
Sky Fibre Max = £42.40
Which works out at £66 p/m in the first year with what I was planning. Would be cheaper to go to AAISP and get the CS for 80/20...

So they've followed the new guidelines to make the line rental + fibre a single, inclusive price by adding the old prices together, but at the same time eliminated the £10 per month discount for 12 months that new customers could get?
Surely that price isn't going to remain for long before Sky reintroduce another incentive?

BT Infinity 2 = £49.99
Sky Fibre Max = £42.40

I am still paying £48,99 for my Infinity 2 until it runs out, which is soon.
AAISP is great, if you don't use more than 1TB a month. If you do then you get slowed to 3mbps for the remainder and use next months allowance at the same time to cover it.
Agreed, the CS is the dogs. I'd be with them if 1TB was enough but it's way too tight for me.

Hopefully not, guess we will wait and see.

The advertising inclusive price guidelines become a requirement as of Monday, also it's the end of the month. Perhaps a new round of deals will begin this week? Sky pricing like higher quality ISPs just doesn't sound realistic at all.

I am getting £42.40 a month for fibre max with phone line right now at http://www.sky.com/shop/broadband-talk/broadband-com...
So maybe try it again?

I am getting this for the first lot of pricing (which is confusing with all the setup charges.
https://s14.postimg.org/5o6m5zi8h/sky1.jpg
But although it says I can get 40mbps when I click on the go faster with sky max the option is removed - as if I can't get up to 76 when I am on it now so I know I can.

All more confusing than before
Edit;; If I go back to the original link it then gives me the option to get 76mbps - it's a really weird ordering system.. I get the following breakdown.

That was the number I was given on my personalised Sky Offers page (I have Sky Q already).
24 hours later it was £42.40.

Oh right... I did some research for you:
both are the 80/20 products
BT: 12 x £49.99 + £9.99 Router Delivery (no setup fee) = £609.87 minus £150 voucher and £90 Quidco = £369.87
Sky 12 x £42.40 + setup fee £48.95 + Router £9.95 = £567.70 minus £50 voucher minus £65 Quidco = £452.70
BT seem to be the winner short term but not after 12 months.

I was going to take both and load balance but will hold off and see what offers come up in the next month or so...

It's what I am doing until BT runs out. Works well.
