I'm looking for a FTTC connection, 80/20 on a 30 day contract. I've got my own kit so don't need a router.
Been thinking about Uno as the exchange is TT enabled. Been with them in the past and they were very good. Think the line at the moment is with Sky though.
Any other suggestions?

Do you still use Pulse8 for phone Bob? I know it is a different service but I'm sure you could give some insight on what they are like for at least that portion? I haven't used them at all but have seen positive posts from yourself and others on at least some of the services they offer.

Absolutely nothing because the phone line is dead so we have no idea what the number is. All I know is the previous tennant was on Sky Broadband.
The BT address checker says downstream handback of 63mb. It�s strange how half the estate is on copper, half on FTTP.
TT and Sky fibre is available on the exchange.

That sounds like the previous tenant ceased the line and broadband. It will therefore have no number.
In case you don't know, Pulse8 uses TalkTalk Business, just like some of uno's products.

That�s correct there is no dial tone.
Judging by the Uno website they can�t provide a line connection?
Pulse8 want £99 to reconnect the line. Starting to think maybe I�d be better off going with Plusnet in a 12 month contract as the setup fee is far cheaper.

We charge £39.95 for a stopped line conversion. Both the line and FTTC would be on a 30 contract.

uno £13.50 stopped line reactivation, £40 for new line. Plus Vat of course, like all uno prices.

Sorry, the price quoted was a stopped MPF line conversion. I believe Uno's stopped line price is for restarting a BT based line.

I thought that may be a possibility on the uno site. The conversion cost is immediately below the restart price on the linked page. My main reason for the post was to provide the OP with the price list he had failed to find.
Whether in this case both the £13.50 and the £40 conversion charge would be applied is why I left it to him to ask them. It seems strange to me that asking for a new line would be cheaper than reactivating the stopped one. But Openreach is a strange beast  .

So would I have to pay to reconnect the line and broadband?
Also as the line was on Sky, does that mean another charge too?

You might pay for one or both but there wouldn't be another charge for the line being on Sky last (as that's covered in the conversion).

Ahh you�re still at Uno Matt, that�s good You helped me with an awful noisy line a few years ago!
Not really bothered about the landline side of it, got a mobile for voice calls but obviously understand the line has to be paid for too.
Can you see what TT backhaul capacity is like on individual exchanges?

Finally switched over early hours June 22, Initially put on a very conservative profile of 12dB.
Gave them a call 08:35 'phone answered immediately, a few different profiles tried, until the "magic" 6dB appeared.
Has remained very stable, which is unusual for my > 6Km E.O. line, Downstream Atten. at 300kHz: 71.9 dB

TalkTalk Retail do set a high margin unless persuaded not to. I didn't know TT Business did.
Was your margin already high before your migration? It shouldn't have mattered as it should have reset. Unless perhaps you were previously on a TT retail or Business connection. For example, the Post Office.

I was on ordinary TT, owing to continual problems with DLM increasing the SNRM, I argued for it to be disabled, which it was.
But the SNRM was still wandering all over between 11dB and as low as 1.4db.
Using a very old 2WIRE router which would stay connected..just.
Now the SNRM is very stable centred on 6db.
I have no idea what the difference is between TT retail, and TT business which I assume Pulse8 use.

That explains why it didn't reset. It only does so on change of underlying supplier, which from Openreach's point of view you didn't. It would have been at 12dB but showing later depending on what was happening to affect the line.
I'm a bit concerned though that Pulse8 seem to have stabilised it. Unless their control is greater than TT Retail choose to employ.
Only time will tell. You may just be lucky that the noise-creater is on holiday so their kit turned off.

noise-creater is on holiday
That is what is worrying me. I can pick up a lot of external electrical noise on a MW radio at 600Khz. But I cannot locate the source, probably background noise, switch mode power supplies etc.
We will see, I will be closely monitoring it for a few weeks.
