I've always found my pings on BT to be the best out of TalkTalk, Plusnet and Sky.

The Virgin Media Business leased line at work has a 75ms ping to the US East Coast.

Ghost offer Gamer Broadband. No idea if it is any good but they guarantee low pings.

pathping is the best way to see what is going on. It gives the time to each hop so you can see how much going across the pond adds. It takes a few minutes to complete. Note that not all hops will respond to pings so there may be gaps.

Given Zen's termination of WBMC connections in Manchester or London where they don't have LLU presence, causing hairpins for some where they have to go via LNS in Manchester before reaching key peering points, might be wise to ascertain where the OP is before recommending an ISP whose network carries those caveats.

If you're near Docklands and on fastpath DSL or FTTP your BQM is going to be great either way.

Graph doesn't look too great actually, either. Latency looks jittery for a good part of the day which is the exact thing OP doesn't need.

Building better networks, not just faster ones.

57ms minimum UK-USA?

Yes, Bob.

The good Professor is close to the transit and peering in London, 6 ms RTT. 15-20 ms between New York and Chicago where that server farm lives. Leaves 66-71 ms for the round-trip under the Atlantic which is about right for the connectivity us commoners get smile

Which is as good as you will get in my opinion to recommend to the OP looking for low latency. Add bombproof broadband, good customer service, an excellent Fritz!box router and never a price rise thrown in and it's a no brainer and beats ALL the supposed leading ISP's I have been with, though there will always be a know better here.
