Should I choose Sky/TalkTalk LLU or BT FTTC

Looking for broadband on postcode LA229NE here are my results from SamKnows:

Will TalkTalk or Sky be better than BT FTTC?

I was thinking to go with Zen, which would be resold BT.

Postcode checking for FTTC is not reliable, for technical reasons.

You need to use this checker. Depending on which ISP and product you are on, the phone number checker may not recognise the number. If it is recognised then that is the most accurate estimator.

If it is not recognised, use the Address option. In that enter just the postcode then submit. It will give you a dropdown list of all addresses in the postcode for you to choose yours. (Just saves all the typing!).

Zen has two suppliers. BT Wholesale and a form of LLU where it uses its own backhaul. (The latter possibly being fed at the exchange by a TalkTalk Business link, but going to a Zen POP somewhere not all the way to TTB).

Thanks, the address checker is not currently working and the past tenant with Sky claims not to have had a landline number.

Based on this limited information, is there a preference between Sky or BT?

Back on ADSL there was an advantage to being on LLU.

There's very little difference now, just LLU operators can have capacity issues at certain exchanges.

Your ping times may be 1 or 2ms higher or lower on LLU - depends on the routing. Personally for me, BT Wholesale connections are slightly better latency wise than Sky and TT LLU but there's literally nothing in it.

Never had performance issues on any of the services i've had on FTTC.

Don't forget that Sky and Talktalk will also sell you FTTC, you don't have to get it from BT.
