FTTP Options (Provider and Hardware) for imminent move

[link to this post]

So, just about to move into a new place (hopefully) at the end of the month. It appears that FTTP is available there as it shows up on the package searcher and on the DSL address checker I see:

Featured Products Downstream Line Rate(Mbps) Upstream Line Rate (Mbps) Downstream Range (Mbps) Availability Date FTTP Install Process
WBC FTTP Up to 330 Up to 50 -- Available KCI2 Assure

I know with the Covid-19 situation installation may be delayed but I would hope it would be sometime in June right?

I currently have my own TP-Link Mesh wifi setup, which I'd definitely want to bring with me, and a TalkTalk FTTC router which I guess I could bring with as I'm now out of the contract period with them at my current place.

I would like to go for the fastest speed connection possible, and as usual, Zen and iDNet are in the mix. Who else should I throw in there that's not horrendously expensive? I don't mind having up to a 24 month contract as intend to stay there for a couple of years at least.

And can I stick with the current router, go with a provider that provides one of their own, or just buy one for myself? I don't mind shelling out if it's going to be worth it.

Thanks in advance!

We use TalkTalk via Utility Warehouse and the router has to be sent back when we change ISP. Not sure if it is the same when direct with TT.

Was Eclipse Home Option 1, VM 2Mb & O2 Standard
Now Utility Warehouse (up to 16mbps) via Talk Talk

I can only speak for my Zen setup.
I have a mesh wifi set using BT Wholehome which works fine with either the Zen supplied router or a Netgear R7000 that I use so I see no problem with a TP-Link equivalent.
Zen supply the Fritzbox 7530 which is fine but there is no reason why you can't buy your own router if preferred like I did.

Thanks for the advice, I've decided to go with Zen and the Fritzbox and pair it with my mesh set-up. I can always swap the router out later if I want to!

KCI2 Assure means its close but you might need a survey to get it and it might cost you some money in excess construction charges

WBC FTTP is native FTTP so there should be no extra charge

Given you are an existing TalkTalk customer it means you have another option FTTP from TalkTalk. They are selling this only to existing customers via a trial, they might have limited the trial given situation but might be worth contacting them to find out if its an option.
