New service

Hi,
Is there any way I can check which ISP's will be able to provide service to a property that doesn't yet have a telephone number. I know what the exchange will be and I know that there is fibre in the area but it's a rural property that currently has no landline service.?

If you have a postal address including postcode, which I expect you do, then use this Address checker.

If it doesn't recognise the address in quite the form you have it, enter just the postcode and captcha then Submit and it will give you a drop-down list to choose from.

Most ISPs should then be able to supply the address as given in that dropdown.

BT, maybe Sky, at normal prices. Almost certainly AAISP. Maybe a few others.

You won't need a copper phone line. If you want a phone connected it will be a form of VOIP. BT call it Digital Voice. Sky, I have no idea. (It depends whether they have enabled your exchange for it yet). AAISP standard VOIP I think.

Very nice! My recommendation NOT to use BT, I have just about had enough of their utter incompetence!

If you go to Openreach click "check my availability", insert your postcode and then select you address it will give you a list of suppliers.

Not a very comprehensive one though. Aquiss and IDNet, for example, are missing

My bad. IIRC I checked my own line which is FTTC , not FTTP, and having checked again you are on the FTTP list not on the FTTC list.

IDNet are on the list for FTTC & FTTP, but only as a business rather than a home provider.

Still a bit inconsistent in my book, as you both provide both services on both home and business lines.

they are VERY inconsistant, they even have records of a provider who no longer exists. I have tried to contact them to tell them!

I have had no problems with BT..i have been with them for 7 years and have only had 1 issue with them.
(well imo only that is)

Now with BT FTTP for nearly 5 months and so far rock solid gigabit connection.
