BT renew offers

My 24 month contract with BT is coming to an end shortly so I called them to see what offers they are making to encourage renewal. Not much I have to say.
My current, recently increased, price for Fibre 1 and 500 mins of calls is £35.69. The renewal price list price would be £37.49 because the 500min deal is no longer available so they will move me to a 700 minute package which is £2 more.
The best their agent would offer was a reduction of £2 back down to £35.49 which is the current price.

Has anyone else had more success with a better deal form them ?

I have to say I have been very happy with my service for the last 24 months although I have not needed any contact with them at all. But I think their annual above inflation price rises are unwelcome.

What did you do? I am on the BT 500 FTTP with included minutes but am considering moving to PAYG or the EE equivalent package which is a little bit cheaper.

I was with BT but moved to Sky (Now) on a 12 month deal at nearly half the price including phone time as an offer.
BT provided a minimum speed guarantee in the old contract which they honoured twice on in the old contract. The cost of the payouts was in part due to BT sending their"engineer" first before contacting BT wholesale.
The cause of the problems I think were due to a combination the legacy of 2 copper cables to the village from the exchange, the fibre to the village terminating at a different location and the ducts being full so that in some sections cables are strung between poles.
There was also the incident when the cabinet that housed the fibre cable termination was hit by a vehicle that required a new cabinet and power net works intervention.
Now County broadband contractors are replacing poles for FTTP and reconnecting old copper links.
BT lowered the minimum speed guarantee for the new contract. The speed I am getting from Sky is about 50% more tan the offered BT guarantee.

Have a look at the deals they offer you online/in their app. I believe they differ from those offered by telephone

I negotiated a slightly better deal when I rang BT retentions after my FTTP 2 year contract was due for renewal. A one off payment effectively bringing 500/75 and 700min of calls to nearly £50pm.
