Surely the future of TalkTalk should be considered?
Backhaul Congestion maybe?
Price?
Contract Period?
DV differences between the two companies?
Problem resolution abilities?
Uptime?
Consistency of speed?
Don't you bother about any of the above?
Talk Talk will be around for a a while, even if they get taken over. You put ADSL on your original post, ADSL is a pretty slow anyway, I doubt Talk Talk or Vodafone is going to be much difference in service with ADSL.
Constancy of speed, again ADSL, saying that when ADSL was more of a thing, I had to help a fair few people with problems when there were with Talk Talk..
Uptime, most providers are pretty good with that these days, I was with plusnet for 9 years and only had one real problem with uptime and even them that was a openreach problem and it still worked with a specific modem. that was FTTC, ADSL used to be a bit iffy now and again., just the nature of ADSl I suppose.
contract period, again most are the same, but you can check that out yourself, the same as price.
Now it seems you were on about FTTC, not ADSL. My view is not to bother with either. If you are not bothered about phone, then as much as i hate BT, try Plusnet, or even Now broadband, they offer 12 months contract sand the prices are pretty good.
Most large providers have naff customer service, but I must admit, plusnet CS was ok when I needed them.|
UIf you are not bothered about price then one of the smaller providers may be better.
As you know there are many variables.
As I put above, I was with Plusnet for 9 years, almost 10, I would not have stayed with them for that long if they were bad, for a large provider they were ok,
