Given that error, I'd suggest you try installing Firefox and see if that cures the problem. When you send the error report, do you get any possible solutions offered by MS?

There's a distinct possibility your IE6 installation is corrupted or another app, or driver, is cutting acrosss it. If you try Firefox and the problem goes away, we have a target to work on.

Not getting anything from MS is something we have to learn to live with.

Is your connection stable with Firefox? If so, then your IE6 installation is broken somewhere.

Hi

You posted a similar thread a couple of days ago and I replied as below. You may have missed my post.

------------------------
Is this where is says "Internet Explorer has failed and needs to re-start"? Does it give you a box saying "Send"/"Don't Send" to send an error report to Microsoft?

Then it re-starts Internet Explorer? Then it happens again?

If so, it's probably right to post here because it would be a problem with Internet Explorer, probably not your internet connection.

Is there a particular website you are visiting when this occurs?
What are you trying to click on when it happens?

Are you able to send and receive mail via Outlook Express whilst this happens?

-------------------

Don't bother with 'Send' to Microsoft - just a waste of bandwidth!

I think you should have a look for spyware and adware that may have infected your PC. And make sure your virus scanners are up to date. Also, go through Add/Remove programs and remove ANYTHING that you no longer need/use. Something is conflicting with Explorer. Using Firefox is all well and good and will work around the issue, but if it's any of the above, the issue is still there.

See how you get on with it, a lot of people prefer it and there are security advantages to using it. Otherwise, you will need to re-install IE6, this link may help you.

Edit: But also note stuchad's post above and the points he makes. Malware is always a possibility and one you should deal with if it is the cause.

I'm on the road now, so won't be back online till sometime tomorrow...

I have had the same problem, it says what the OP has said and it is random

In reply to:

I'm not that clever but i'm sure i read somewhere that it was to do with the last batch of windows security updates for IE, i have only had this problem since my last lot of updates. I am 99% sure that it is a bug in IE due to the above.

My computer don't have any spyware or viruses, it's clean so that is not the problem and is nothing to do with my connection.

Well microsoft better pull there finger out a release a patch, that is the only solution.

Or you could uninstall the last batch of updates through Add/Remove Programs? Make sure you check the box to 'Show Updates'.

This may help

You got Sp1?

Fix on 22nd August
