vista / avg and bearshare lite

installed vista a few months ago, twas okay, but after a week bearshare lite has stopped working, literely with the message "bearshare has stopped working" and will not load up. ive tried uninstall and re-install but to no avail. am running AVG too. does anyone have any suggestions ? or does anyone know of a p2p which has the same look and feel of bearshare lite ? (personal preference)
