Quick Launch

[link to this post]

I have QL on the task bar, never had any problems with it. Over the last two
days I find that after boot up it is not activated, I can easily activate it
by the usual methods.

The QL folder is in the normal place, with all the shortcut icons.

XP Pro SP 2, IE7 is enabled and everything is up to date.

I am the only user on this machine.

Is there a solution to this?

Thanks for the reply, unfortunately I have a different fault condition.

I have also posted on the MS Tech Net site, appears to have no answer so far.

Thanks I downloaded and ran "Restore show Desktop Icon" and several other scripts from this page.

Probably sorted some weird error in Registry.

Also appears to be a misleading "typo" on the page.

It states that the QL folder should be "C:\Documents and Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer"

It should be C:\Documents and Settings\USER NAME\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer

Every time I installed RegSeeker, then used it, my QL would disappear at start up. Using System Restore I managed to get it back a number of times, but I learned that the only way to guarantee I saw the QL bar at start up was to uninstall RegSeeker. It's now permanently out of my system.

I don't suppose this is relevant to your problem is it?
