Changing dual boot start options - Windows 7 & XP

[link to this post]

I wanted to know what sort of problems I'd have with the 64-bit version of Windows 7 on this machine, so I thought I'd find out using the Windows 7 trial version from Microsoft. The installation went OK - I installed Windows 7 on a partition on the C: drive, and I now have a dual-boot system, XP or Windows 7.

Just one problem - I have my computer switch itself on via the BIOS at 7AM every morning, so it's up and ready for me when I'm up and dressed. Unfortunately now, in my absence, the dual-boot menu defaults to Windows 7, which I don't really want at the moment. BOOT.INI on the C: drive doesn't seem to mention Windows 7 at all - how do I change the boot preference please ?

With Vista they changed the boot program - so XP/2K etc. are treated in vista/7 like DOS is in XP

you need to start Windows 7 (instructions are for Vista - think 7 is same, but that means a reboot and no internet atm), go to system properties dialog (right mouse click on "Computer", properties - click on "Advanced System Settings" - then on advanced tab of System Properties Dialog - startup And Recovery - you can select default OS and time out etc.
