windows explorer 8 or 7?

I have windows explorer 8 on my machine ( win sp3 he). However in the latest email from Microsoft, they advice to upgrade to windows explorer 7. So which is the latest version please? Is ver 7 yo go with windows 7 ?

Do you mean Internet Explorer? Windows Explorer is the file manager which is unversioned as it is built into the operating system.

Internet Explorer 8 is the latest version. Windows 7 will also come with Internet Explorer 8.

I am sorry I meant to say internet explorer and not windows explorer. I am refering to :http://www.microsoft.com/uk/windows/ie/default.mspx?mg_id=10017

it advices me to download internet explorer 7 when the latest ver is 8 !!
