Outlook Express 6 - dial up woe

Hi All
Removed a speed touch modem and installed a router for use with a Dell Dimension running XP

But although IE uses the router without question, attempting to start OE6 still results in an attempt to use dial up; could crush a grape. I've removed all references to speed touch dial up from the connections dialog boxes and opted for never dial. Still the same issue exists

Had a quick regedit but could not see an obvious key to mess with

Don't really want to uninstall IE/OE and then reinstall unless there is no other option!

Any ideas gratefully received. TIA

So are you using Local Area Network under the Connections tab in OE?

Yes I'm sure this is the problem

In OE. Tools/Options/Connection.

At the bottom of this tab see Internet connection settings, click on Change.

Tick "Never dial a connection" button, and on OK to save.

I'm suspicious of this site. The English is rather stilted and ungrammatical; could even be a translation from another language, Sure enuff, altho' contact addy is in USA, the only alternative language on this page, but not others, is Russian.
