I have , dont see why they took it off? most stuff does not use jump lists so I run both.

Nope, haven't seen a need. The new taskbar does all I need - only thing I ever used the quick launch for was web browser - didn't much like it the way it was.

Agreed. The new taskbar is much better.

"Small icons" are a bit too small aren't they. It would be nice to vary the size. Not the "magnifying glass" of OS X, which I find a bit naff, just the ability to pick the size of your choice. Ah well, got to leave something for Windows 8.

Why? The task bar now does the same thing, I must admit when I first started using windows 7 beta, I did not like the new task bar, but now I love it. The only fault is that it is not big enough.

The Apple Dock is better, but the new taskbar is still pretty good.

same thing?

quick launch :-

1 - icons small use less space
2 - all neat and tidy at the left hand side together not mixed up with running apps
3 - the launch icon remains in view when app is running

docking system :-

1 - icons take more room and bigger by default.
2 - launch icon merges into running icon when app is launched.
3 - launch icons are mixed into running icons when some apps are started.

I prefer quick launch and I respect others will prefer the apple mac style, however to say the new system is the same as quick launch is wrong.

The mixing up of running programs can resolved by reordering them, plus its quite clear as to what is running and just pinned to the bar.. but each to their own ..

Quick launch serves no purpose now because the start menu partially serves that along with "jump lists" for each program which is a god send for anyone working with large amounts of files on a daily basis ...

i would like personally see all programs pulled into the front part of the startmenu now.
