Windows 7 Net connection flaw

[link to this post]

Be aware there is a known flaw in windows 7 and affects most Nvidia chipset ethernet cards and also some intel cards.

Newest drivers doesn't fix it as i found out, what happens is when ur downloading or using something that needs a lot of bandwith ur connection keeps dying saying it default gateway is unavailable.

The only thing i have done to fix it is the spare cheap Realtek 8139D 10/100 chipset card i bought in October for £6 to test i installed using the latest windows 7 drivers from the realtek website and touch wood it seems to be ok.

Also aswell as disconnections it was affecting overall connection speed, where before my connection was as low as 9mb when the problem was occuring now it doesn't drop below 18.5mb. I also get 1.7 - 2.4mb downloads most of the time since using the realtek with windows 7.

Nvidia 5 and 6 series are known to be affected.

Some intel and intel pro chipsets are also affected.

This is a good site to read on the issue.
