how to dispense with logging on in win 7

[link to this post]

As the only users of our laptop are myself and my wife, I find the logging on process unnecessary. I am sure that there is a way to dispense with this process. I seem to remember that somebody offered a similar solution for Vista users which may work for win 7. Could anybody help please?

.To remove the password protection, open Run (Win + R) and type control userpasswords2 and press enter. This will open up the User Accounts window. Here uncheck the option Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer and click OK. When you click OK, it will prompt to enter the current password and confirm it. Once this is completed, next time you log into Windows 7, it will not ask the password for logging in.

Hope This Helps Ash

You have to enter "control userpasswords2" not "userpasswords2"

then it should work smile
