connecting laptop to tv

every time I connect my laptop( win 7) to my tv, I have to go to control panel to change the sound to hdmi system. I have to go back to control panel to change to speakers when I disconnect. Is there a way to do this automatically?

I had a similar issue but after setting something within the "sound options" it works ok now. Unfortunately I can't remember what the settings were prior to adjusting them.

Hi, thanks for the reply. Perhaps if you could tell me what is the current sound options are ie which option is ticked, perhaps I can emulate it !!

Try This
Right click on the sound icon in the notification area and select volume control options tick all devices playing current sound the default communication device and then tick the devices you want the audio to come out of hope this helps
