Windows 7 Update

[link to this post]

For some reason, I'm being told there is an optional nVidia 9800 driver that can be downloaded. This update was released 31/3

The odd thing is, I have the latest driver anyway, which was released in January. As is typical of Microsoft, they dont say what version this driver is.

So I dont know whether it is somehow later than the officially release one or (more likely) older...

Probably go for the easy way and just hide it...

So you have the latest Microsoft driver? Why not go to the nVidia web site and get their latest driver?

I never use the updates from Microsoft for NVidia cards - last one I used screwed up the display. Stick with the one that you have from NVidia - it can't be older than Microsoft's offering.

Indeed - I tend to find those sort of things cause... problems...

Apparently this update is later than nVidia's one. I wonder why nVidia haven't released it yet ?

If in doubt stick with the manufacturer's version.
