AVI file conversion.

Hi there,

my sons Toshiba pocket camcorder works fine, but when connected to his Windows Vista basic lappy, the machine sees the AVI files, but cannot open them. Any one recommend some free software that can allow him to open and edit these files using Windows movie maker.
