what happened to my email

I use windows live mail on my laptop ( win 7). I received an email which I tried to move to a particular folder. But now I cannot find the email in any folder!! I searched all folders in vain. How can one an email!!

How did you try to move it? Point and Drag should move it anywhere.

If you remember something about its contents you could try Find ... msg from top level.

I tried that without success. I have a copy of the email on my phone and my desktop. But the copy on my laptop has disappeared without trace, despite the fact that I initially read it on the laptop, but tried to move it to the appropriate folder. It disappeared in transit!! Of course I looked in every folder including the deleted etc.
