on this page: http://uk.myspace.com/help/browserunsupported (if you can see it) and insists I install a different one, including IE9. It gives me no option to log in.
I am using IE8 on my XP Desktop. But I am also using the same browser on my Vista laptop and that allows me to log in normally.
What's the difference? I have cleared cookies on XP just in case, but no.
Is MySpace getting too big for its boots. I'm not being forced into changing my browser just to satisfy a mere social networking site. I'm happy with IE8 and will install IE9 (or any other) in my own time.

My space is still a good place to go to find music that you would never hear other wise. I still use My space for that. Hopefully the new owners will sort the site out.
As for the Op question,, strange very strange as I know someone who still use IE 7 on windows Xp and can use Myspace.

As AEP implies, it would appear to have a bug... using OS X and Safari, it claims my browser is unsupported and offers Safari as one of the options...  .

I can even access MySpace from my Kindle, which has an experimental browser, not even one of their "supported" ones. So why not XP?

After ignoring the gist of my query and saying effectively "if it says you need to upgrade then it's time to upgrade!" they now say: We are currently reviewing the system error. We apologize for any inconvenience that might have been caused. I might be wrong, but I'm a bit skeptical that they are just sending out pro-forma replies. Here's hoping they mean it.

It started working today. I can now access it w/out being told I've got the wrong type of browser  . Guess they fixed it.
Talk of MySpace's ownership nor that it is on its last legs had no bearing on the issue. It is still a viable meeting place for bands.
