How to save online videos

[link to this post]

I used to use SaveVid to save online videos, e.g. YouTube. Originally you just pasted the relevant URL into SaveVid's page and downloaded, more recently thought it has became too intrusive on my PC for me.

Any suggestions for safe, non-intrusive, free ways of achieving similar?

If you use firefox you could try this.
Have a look at the reviews to see if it's what you want.

If you install the freeby Real Player, it'll add a download button just above the YouTube video box.

Thanks, looks good, and I do use FF.

Only trouble is that when I go to install it fails "invalid file hash (possible download corruption) - 261"

Ah well, another time perhaps.

Try Freemake

They also have a great video converter which works really well and is very simple to use.

Edit. It also lets you convert to your preferred format as it downloads.
