Hate paint on windows 7, it uses the stupid ribbon menu system, loses me. Ms have decided that that people are not going to uninstall it so I got rid of all the links to it.

If you want to find a file instantly try Search Everything.

I had expected to need nothing but Windows Search when I started with Win 7, but very soon gave up and installed the search tools I had been using for years on Win XP: Search Everything and Agent Ransack.

Not heard of those, but will take a look.

The main problem does seem to have been mine, though I still think the way it works is illogical and non-intuitive.

I always thought Win7 search was awful, never looked at any search programs.
Search Everything seems to work great.

A bottle of white, a bottle of red
Perhaps a bottle of rosé instead.
