Which add-on is failing? If you don't know have you tried disabling them one by one to find out?

You need to do a virus/adware scan. There are no pop-ups on this site.

I've run Spybot S&D as well as MalwareBytes Anti-malware plus performing full system AVG virus scan. Absolutely no issues, but still, whenever I access the thinkbroadband site, I get the add-in info bar pop-up message. A strange one.! I've turned off the Add-in for Adobe Shockwave Flash Object.

Tried googling and then this forum search of "shockwave flash", and up you come with the others.

Started getting yesterday and getting up my nose now.

Taken off version 11. something or whatever it is, put back on and still the same, does on the orange web site as well, not done all the job web sites yet so dont know ( job hunting later).

Is the flash player as disable and all ok.
Is it a windows update of internet explorer.
Really anoying.

Can disable like you but then the orange man dragging down to a road on google maps to turn into street view then won't go as needs this running.

Makes the web pages all singing and dancing I guess so needed, google street maps does.

Lets hope someone knows. Might do the virus scan thing but did all that with malwarebytes and other things receintly.

Not sure it is that but will do the mcafee scan to start with then the freebee things I have.

Worth a go. Who knows.

Hello John

I had thought of that but all time when need to do jobs of the day then tea.

One for tomorow and also wee if I can find a version 10 of the flash player and not 11 as it is off the proper web site.

Might be the current version of that stuffing up. Then they will notice or microsoft, get an auto update and done.

To many favourites to start in firefox but could just keep trying this web site and the top 10 forums ( where the problems are as well) and see. Point proven if it does not do. Will have a go later or tomorrow as no work tomorrow.

Good idea and will do.

Going on the older version on thre player is a thought and will try is can find version 10 as the orange man on google maps needs that and if not running it knows and pushes you to flash site.

A few things to try. Like sais on this forum, only the last few days

So got flash player 10 as a download, scan that but mcafee does anyway. Install and a non starter as it says a newer more secure version is available.
then takes you to the web site I know for the new one I don't want!. Helpfull then.

So we all get dictated to what version to have even if it might not work, good then.

Now for the firefox thing and getting late to start tea. Horrible computers.

Polite way, could say worse.

Hi

Does seem to work on firefox but then had to go to the flash player, adobe site and do again.

After finding the add in settings and what was going, trying to use firefox and not keen but it did give the option of importing favourites and homepage. did that and not favourites are there in a from internet explorer folder and in alpherbetical order so now pretty useless. I like them in the order I want.

Still they are there and for use of this broser when needed ok I guess.

Same but different and not keen.

Point proved it is the new version of flash and internet explorer I guess.

I tried turning off the pop up blocker and no difference. Still get this so the way it is. Bet an update will sort it at some point. Not a major proplem but annoying.

hopefully this photo works of internet explorer.

Even does in on Gumtree jobs. Time to turn off the add on like others.

Might get to like firefox yet, but not using at the moment.

To be fair it did seem to be quicker, but might have been just me thinking so.

Back to job hunting.

So disabled the flash player, then on gumtree it did the pop up thing, OK lets try the microsoft silverlight thing there on add ons. Disabled that and then it did on another site so 2 things disabled and not them or is and others. Will get to the point that nothing will be enabled. Can't be bothered with it all.

Will find away of making firefox more useable and the favourites how I like and use that.

Microsoft, can still internet explorer where the sun does not shine.

Now jobs not done and tea being served, what joy.

Good old firefox, Back to work.

Good luck with the job hunting.

In the version of Firefox I have you do Boolmarks -> Show All Bookmarks (or shift ctrl o) to show the bookmarks. You can then drag them into any order you want.

Just fired the email back up, to much open and stuffed the tea down the neck and back we go to this, just did the bookmark thing of dragging around as can on the other one so thought it was worth a try and jobs a goodun. shame the mcafee site adviser sites at the bottom and can't be put high up where it shows in the eye line more and having home page open on both programs, internet explorere shows more at the same time by a little bit as not spread out all the things top and bottom, must say I like the microsoft offering more but always crashes and now this daft add on thing so now got fiirefox as the one I will use.

Same but different so willl make do.

Just in time for Neighbours (sad sod!).

Back to the telly.

firefox seems to work but not the best fix if you like internet explorer.

Just microsoft playing up as usual I guess.

Now imported favourites (gives you the choice when installing) and gragged the order around to get where I like.

Do have to reinstall flash player when on firefox and maybe enable a few add ons you have, we had mcafee stuff that needed enabling.

http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

I will make do for now and maybe an update will fix.
Microsoft, neverending problems.

Started reading this and thought someone was cutting and pasting something I wrote but then noticed it was me!, daft pratt.

Do microdsoft updates and the shockwave after, not sure what fixed it but it went away for me so some update (not sure what) does sort it out. Maybe letting the shockwave player work again and see if it goes, might have been internet explorer and months on now goes.

Did use firefox to get around it but do use both as firefox crashes but this maching is useless and always has so Ie or firefox I can use and whe it goes all ok. Try again and see if microsoft doing its own updates for a few months has sorted, has for me but dont know why.

[re: Anonymous] [link to this post]

Assuming that you're using Firefox, did you try to check if your "plug-ins" are up-to-dates?? Namely going into FF's "Add-on" menu and click "click to check if all your plug-ins that you've installed are up-to-date". Then you should be displaying with a list, which you could see if any plug-ins that you've installed needing to be updated. Just by clicking the corresponding "update" link/s against it could download/install your out-of-dates, if it found it, plug-ins rather than completely disabling it at all!
I used to have similar experience BUT it has all gone now after I did the above. Good luck
