Does your system BIOS support 3TB drives? Are you running Windows 7?

Yes, Windows 7 x64
As far as I know my BIOS must support 3TB drives as when I first hooked it up it detected it as 3TB. After formnatted it I was using it with a USB adaptor and had no problems, until it went messed up
