I have a dual boot PC (with Windows Vista on a standard HDD and Windows 7 on a SSD) and after having used the SSD, I want to use it instead or at least most of the time !
The problem that I have got is that I have hundreds of bookmarks in my Firefox browser and I want to copy them to the new SSD.
I have been using MozBackup which works fine until now when I want to transfer the bookmarks over.
I have tried just about everything, any ideas anyone ?
Cheers.
p.s. I have sent an e-mail to MozBackup support around a week ago but haven't had a reply yet and I'm not sure how long I have to wait ?

I'd use XMarks Sync or something like that to keep the bookmarks synced between the 2 installs.

What is wrong with MozBackup? Just backup, then restore on oither PC...

I haven't heard of that before. I will try it out if all else fails. Thanks.

I have downloaded and installed a new copy of MozBackup from within Windows 7 i.e. I booted from the SSD but nothing happens when I click on it !
I have also copied the MozBackup application over to the SSD but the restore doesn't work as the application can't find the backup file so I think it's a problem with me specifying the correct destination folder.
I have not had to do this before when I restored on the same hard drive.

This shouldn't happen. I think you need to find out why the program isn't working and address this first, it could be something wrong with your windows installation etc.

No. I didn't know there was a non-install version.

What about FF's (apostrophe needed to stop it being censored) built in import/export bookmark feature?
Are you after something to keep them synched or are you just trying to move them over? I am not quite sure from your post.

I have never tried the import/export bookmark feature.
I don't know how it works.
No I'm not trying to sync the bookmarks, just copy from the HDD installation to the SSD installation.

I'm using version 11.0 and I think I used to be able to see an import/export option but it's no longer there !
There is a 'Set up sync' option there though but I need to create an account.
Do you know if that would work ?

It should be there in firefox bookmark manager, it's a button at the top.
Failing this, just go into the firefox profile directory and copy the bookmark file across...
Set up sync would probably work, never used it tho

Thanks found it now.
I'm sure the import/export option used to be in the Bookmarks menu, never mind !?

That worked and was much easier than faffing about with MozBackup !
I think I'll ditch it and use the import/export option in future.
I am new to Windows 7 and now have the task of setting up Windows Mail which I believe involves downloading it as it isn't included as part of the O/S which is very strange.
Thanks to everyone for their help
