Win7 thumbnails issue

Don't seem to be able to stop Win7 32bit from deleting my video and jpeg files' thumbnail cache. It happens fairly regularly even when I have NOT run disk cleanup.

There is apparently this workaround fix http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/177357-thumbnai... - has anybody tried it or is there another way: perhaps through a regedit?
