Best of luck smile

I've never had a failing PSU, so don't know what the effects are. A BSOD resulting from a loss of power does seem very plausible...

Well 2 hours in this morning and it's not shut down once yaaaay smile
Thanks again for your help/advice smile

Sounds good!

Surprising though that a PSU could cause the startup problems that you were having since you have only 2GB of RAM and using integrated graphics (?)

Why is that surprising?

I would have thought a 300 Watts (?) PSU with integrated graphics would survive pretty well - if a graphics card had been added that required a higher recommended wattage then that would perhaps be a likely cause of a PSU to fail.

Do you think that it was perhaps just the PSU overheating or another cause during it's normal use?

It was probably a case of the PSU going defective in some way. Perhaps a faulty capacitor. Sometime age is the factor. Not directly related to it's throughput.

Just hope that the new PSU will be OK and there isn't another underlying cause smile
