can one run win 7 and win 8

can one run win 7 if one to upgrade to win 8. I have seen somewhere that you can revert to win 7. In other words can one alternate between the two operating systems?

You mean dual boot Win7 and Win8? You can, but why would you? Win8 has a desktop app that is basically Win7 built-in.

I think are are confusing downgade licence rights with physical downgrading. Purchasers of Window 8 Pro machines will be entitled to install Windows 7 or Vista instead, at no extra cost. But that would, almost certainly, have to be a clean install.

I must be missing something, the windows 8 desktop is not the same as windows 7 desktop.

To the OP yes as long as you buy a full windows 8 licence and not upgrade, as upgrading you forfeit the right to use the old windows.
