cannot move an icon

I can move all icons on my laptop ( win 8), except one namely "homegroup" , which I think recently installed after a windows update. Right click, view,auto arrange unticked, would not move the icon. Any ideas?

Might be something here of use, or maybe not tongue

Can't tell you what to do from experience as I'm still using XP laugh

I turned Win 8 into a virtual xp. Although I still have XP as a dual boot.

You can't move it, but you can remove it. This is a problem that has been with us since Windows 7.

After a restart and windows update as instructed by win 8, the "homegroup" icon disappeared, very strange!!
