Loss of network access after sleep in Windows 7

This has me baffled
When waking from sleep mode in Windows 7 sometimes, but not always, I can't see the local network but can access the internet.
A reboot of the computer always fixes it
Creating a Network map shows the computers attached to the network but doesn't show the router only the router media centre (this is a quirk from the USB connection on the router which isn't actually present on this model)
Router is a Plusnet TG582n and power saving on the network adapter is disabled

Seems to be related to the router firewall as disabling it seems to have fixed it

What motherboard do you have ?
There is a problem with some of the Intel Nics, which requires a fix.
I had the same problem a while back on one particular motherboard..
The Nic in question is a Intel 82579V

It has a Realtek adapter and the problem you refer to is related to not having internet and network access.
I had internet access but not network and Windows network couldn't find the router when I tried mapping the network although it could see the non existent USB connector
