SFC in Windows 7/8

I have found that no matter how near to a fresh installation SFC is run, it will always find problems. Does this mean that SFC is bugged, Windows 7/8 easily corrupts files or that hard drive corruption is now common-place ?

Only time I ran it - it didn't find any problems despite Windows Explorer giving me a BSOD every time I tried to use it

Never ever experienced this, and I've run sfc /scannow many times on Windows 7 and Windows 8.

A fair few people seem to have this problem - seems to be caused by - guess what - an update...
