Annoying how some apps apear in the store as free but are actually trial based, one such one I came accross is Winzip on a subscrition basis but says free and Express zip the same. Annoying.

Yes, they should put it in the "Free and Trial" section and not just "Free" - have you let them know ?

welcome to the world of the app store.
dev's love it as I am sure sales go through the roof, free marketing and sales handled by a big company on their behalf.
Of course one side affect is the free app thats really a trial app or alternatively may be infested with ads and games that are on a free to play but pay to win model.

i have not used winzip for many years, winrar is far better, but why on earth would anyone want a Metro version of winzip? It use would be pretty limited.

I can't remember the last time I used winzip, like pkzip it's been condemned to the annals of history.

Difficult to see why you need a zip program when it's been built in to Windows for years now.

Because Rar is better than Zip, winrar also allows you to install directly from winrar.
