Since I upgraded to Win 8.1 there is no backup utility. So I have installed Easeus Backup Free 6.0 and am quite pleased with it for nothing. Why did they take out windows 7 recovery?

I think the expectation is that you use File History for day-to-day backups, much like Time Machine in OS X. You only need to do an image backup once in a while. Alternatively, you can use a commercial product.
Edit: Sorry, this was meant to be a reply to your second post.
That works for me. File History runs hourly and I backup the File History folder (changes) to the web every 4 hours. Seems to work well, I never notice any sluggishness when it's all happening.
File History is much better than an image backup. It only backs up changes and makes it very simple to recover individual files. It's the backup that most users need; image backups are mainly useful for disaster recovery, a rare ocurrence.

Is it possible to backup file history to skydrive automatically? If so how?

Afraid I don't know about SkyDrive - I don't use it.
The File History files are just stored in a normal directory tree though, so if you can select an individual folder to upload in SkyDrive then it should be OK.
The only difficult thing about File History is that you need a separate drive to store the history on - you can't back up the C drive to a folder on the C drive for example.
