Safe usage

I run XP and I think I need a reliable supplier (on the web) of a spring-clean of my puter. Can anybody make a suggestion, thanks

Do you mean to perform general tweaks?

If you insist on using something - CCleaner. ONLY. DO NOT get sucked into using any other sorts of programs because the chance is they will cause more damage and problems than they fix.

When using CCleaner be VERY careful what you have ticked in terms of what to clean - else you will find your internet history favourites, etc, inadvertently wiped.

Why spend money?

Just delete any programmes you don't use.

As suggested, CCleaner will tidy up any files that are able to be deleted, tidying of the registry files and disable Start Up Files.

Defrag

Run Scandisk

If anything else is required then someone else will be sure to comment.
