VPN on Port 80?

I have a friend who is at uni, They block almost every thing but port 80

He has to use one of the many VPN services out there that have their own software witch connects to their service via port 80 and thus bypasses the uni firewall and so he can connect to steam etc.

But its slow and laggy and so I though he can use a VPN via my connection.

But how can he connect via port 80 since windows VPN is via port 1723?

I have my router set up to forward port 80 externally to port 1723 internally. So that's ready to go.

He tried adding :80 to the end of my IP but no joy.

So no one knows how to do this?

I was thinking it is not possible. Looks like this is the case.

Windows doesn't permit changing the port number for PPTP afaik.

Does the uni allow port 443 (HTTPS)? If so, configure an SSL VPN i.e. SSTP

How does one add encryption to an incoming vpn??

How are you setting up this VPN in the first place? Perhaps utilize the VPN functionality of your router rather than doing it by Windows unless this is Windows Server in which just a case of adding NPS / RRAS and configuring SSTP.

Im using talktalk's HG533 Witch as far as I can see has no VPN functions.

I have a TP-Link wnr 3600 witch may have it but I cant get it to work with my connection.. I just get CHAP auth fail for some reason.
