Exactly, and some of it Open Source, and as for this new Win 10, or Win 8 for that matter might look good on tablets and mobile phones, and maybe touch screen laptops, but for Desktops this Metro i/f is diabolical and nothing they do will change my mind from leaving Win 7. I love my Aero style DT, and the way Win 7 works, so why would I want to change, when they finally decide to retire it then I will probably give up altogether and change over to Linux, rather than pay MicroSnot for an atrocious piece of s**t

Yes that is true but ITunes is free and does the job. The point is a CD player on a PC/Laptop is still very useful.

Let's not forget that CD's sound better than downloads (less compression) and vinyl sounds better that CD. New formats aren't necessarily better and there is still a market for turntables and CD players.

Windows Vista was with kernel 6.0, whereas Windows 7 has 6.1. The kernel used for Windows 8 is 6.2, and 6.3 for Windows 8.1. The previous Windows 10 Technical Preview used kernel version 6.4 against v10.0 of build 9888.
